Old Town Serbian Gourmet House, located at 522 W. Lincoln Avenue. in Milwaukee, Roland and I both feel was such a find!!! They made this all as easy as possible. Alex, the restaurant's owner, really came through for us. He arranged the reservation, gave us the idea for the colored name cards to show what type of dinner each person ordered, arranged for parking to be available at the church, and even bought Roland and I a drink when we came in to check the reservation two weeks before the wedding, and we both looked like we could use one.
We found Old Town by searching the phone book, and getting lucky. Roland had flown back to Milwaukee from California in order to find a church and reception hall. We arranged with Pastor Earl to have the wedding at United Central Methodist Church, but we still didn't have a place for the reception. We visited some places, but they were all either booked, too far away, too small, or just not right. Roland began searching the phone book, and he noticed Old Town was only a short distance from my home.
We stopped by Old Town, and we were taken by the atmosphere of the place. If that wasn't enough, having dinner there that evening with my parents, and our ushers Daniel (my brother) and Shane (his friend) definitely sold us. The food and service were incredible.
This is a picture of Alex's grandson, who was working the night of the reception. Just as all of the waiters, he was awesome.
They play frequently at Old Town, because, if I remember correctly, one of the members is Alex's son. Their music was another part of what made the atmosphere at Old Town so special for our reception.
